In the first result of the General Election 2020, the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna has won Galle district in postal voting by polling 27,682 votes. The Samagi Jana Balawegaya has polled 5,144 votes, Jathika Jana Balawegaya 3,135 votes and the UNP 1,507 votes.
