55 SLTB Depots Operating at a Loss

⭕ 55 Sri Lanka Transport Board 🇱🇰 depots are operating at a loss, says Transport Minister Bimal Rathnayake.

⭕ Only 54 SLTB depots are generating profits through operations, while 55 are incurring losses

⭕ Measures to address losses include replacing ineffective managers, revising bus schedules, and reducing fraudulent activities.

⭕ The SLTB consists of 7,137 buses, but only 5,182 are currently in operation, with 1,955 buses not in service.

⭕ The SLTB employs a total of 25,384 persons at present, with efforts to motivate employees through revised staff salaries and training workshops.
