🏠15,000 + homes destroyed by Cyclone Ditwah in 🇱🇰 - UN

⭕ The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reports more than 15,000 homes destroyed across Sri Lanka.

⭕ Over 200 roads remain impassable.

⭕ At least 10 bridges are damaged.

⭕ Sections of the rail network and the national power grid are also affected.

⭕ The damage comes after flooding triggered by Cyclone Ditwah - among the worst Sri Lanka has seen since Indian ocean Tsunami in 2004.

⭕ In 2004 gov reported about 80,000 houses destroyed and more than 889,000 people displaced.
