Big Relief Invites Big Fraud 🇱🇰

When relief amounts are large, people will game the system. The Government must double-check the data and use a transparent verification process before giving out money.

⭕ Rushing to finish payments before the end of 2025 to meet budget requirements - while relying on inaccurate data - will lead to fraud and payments going to people who shouldn’t receive them.

Here is a clear example:
⭕ The DMC report shows 124,125 affected in Mannar, but according to census 2024 the total population of the district is only 123,674.
