+34%: 🇱🇰 Sri Lanka among top fuel price increases in 30 days

⭕ AFP data shows petrol prices tracked across 150+ countries rose after the Middle East war period from Feb. 23 to Mar. 23, 2026.

⭕ 🇱🇰 Sri Lanka recorded about a 34% increase in petrol prices during the period, placing it among the higher-impact countries.

Government should step in and ease the tax rates and imports on essential food items,

1. Thats what happened last time, when government dont have enough revenue to run the economy they print money to keep the mechanism going. So better to run it this way, economy may slow down but we will survive.

Can you give some valid sources for the price data ? Because i know for certain that in some countries the percentage of increment is higher than shown here ?

Petrol issue could be resolved once the Iran war is over..(hopefully) But nearly 50 Billion loss (for month) incurred in through Diesel power generation due to substandard coal imports will be recovered through common man.. Laundromats paid by the Pelawatta ilk are in 'all set go' social media campaign to whitewash this bad coal corrupt act for sure .
