Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 Navy Documents 11 Shipwrecks Off Colombo

⭕ Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 Navy conducted a shipwreck expedition to survey historically significant shipwrecks off Colombo.

⭕ The expedition documented the current state of numerous shipwrecks, including the Coal Wreck, Chief Dragon Car Carrier, and MV Astoria.

⭕ 14 diving officers and 15 diving sailors participated in the intensive shipwreck expedition, using atmospheric air and nitrox air mix as breathing agents.

⭕ The wrecks of the Chief Dragon Car Carrier and Thermopylae Sierra are now functioning as artificial reefs, providing habitats for various marine species.

⭕ The survey included shipwrecks sunk during World War I, including the SS Worcestershire and SS Perseus.
