🇱🇰 Sri Lanka Ahead of Regional Peers in Claude AI Use

⭕ Sri Lanka ranks 83rd out of 121 countries in Anthropic’s latest Economic Index, with a Claude Usage Index of 0.56×. That means usage is about 56% of what would be expected based on Sri Lanka’s working-age population.
⭕ Within South Asia, 🇱🇰 Sri Lanka at 0.56× is ahead of 🇳🇵 Nepal at 0.41×, 🇵🇰 Pakistan at 0.31×, 🇮🇳 India at 0.30× and 🇧🇩 Bangladesh at 0.11×.
India has much larger total usage, but Sri Lanka is substantially ahead when population size is taken into account.
⭕ The strongest areas of use in Sri Lanka are Content Creation & Copywriting at 24.5%, Education & Learning at 22.9% and Software Development at 18.4%. Homework is the single most common task, accounting for 13.1% of usage.
⭕ Sri Lanka is performing comparatively well within the region, particularly in learning and technical use. However, the 0.56× index is still below the global benchmark of 1.0×, showing there is still considerable room for wider adoption.
