🚌 SLTB to Buy 200 Super-Luxury Buses to Modernize Ageing Fleet 🇱🇰
Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 is investing in new super-luxury buses to meet rising demand, especially on expressways, and to phase out overaged vehicles.
⭕ 94% of SLTB’s luxury buses and 52% of regular fleet are beyond economic lifespan
⭕ 61 private buses now run expressway routes under SLTB on profit-sharing basis
⭕ 200 super-luxury buses to be procured using SLTB funds to replace ageing fleet
⭕ 29 buses to be bought upfront by financially stable depots
⭕ Remaining 171 buses: down payment from SLTB + 5-year monthly instalments.
