⭕️The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has approved a reduction of electricity tariffs by 20% overall.

⭕️The new electricity tariffs will be effective from midnight January 17th, 2024. - According to the PUCSL.
⭕ The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has stated that it will implement the new tariff following advice from the Ministry of Finance.
⭕ As per the law, the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), has the final authority on electricity tariff prices. The Ministry of Finance's "advice" has no legal standing. According to the law, the tariff revision process has already been completed, and the new tariff should be implemented from midnight today(17).
