❌ “If I Don’t Have a TIN, I Don’t Need to File Returns”
Reality: By law, all individuals aged 18 and above must file tax returns if their annual income exceeds 1.2 million.
Not having a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) does not exempt you from this requirement. You are expected to obtain a TIN and file your return. If you already have a TIN, filing is mandatory. Even if your income is below the threshold, you must still submit a Nil return.
