🚨 Historic Representation for Disabled Community in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰

⭕ NPP nominates Sugath Wasantha De Silva, President of the Sri Lanka Council of Visually Handicapped Graduates, as MP via the National List.

⭕ According to 2012 study, 1.7M Sri Lankans live with disabilities. This is the 1st time their community gets representation in Parliament.

⭕ Despite its frequent misuse over the years, the National List was originally created as a mechanism to promote inclusivity and amplify the voices of marginalized communities in governance. This is a truely commendable nomination by NPP. 👏👏
