🚨 Arjun Aloysius Sentenced to 6 Months for Rs. 3.5 Billion VAT Evasion

⭕️ W. M. Mendis Director, Arjun Aloysius, sentenced to 6 months in prison for evading VAT payments of Rs. 3.5 billion (2016-2019).

⭕️ Case filed by IRD for defaulting taxes; Colombo Additional Magistrate Bandara Ilangasinghe ruled imprisonment for failing to pay after a Nov. 14 court order.

⭕️ Given Sri Lanka’s political landscape, Aloysius, a well-known and well-connected billionaire, likely wouldn’t have faced such consequences under any previous government.
