📉 Sri Lanka records deflation for the first time in 39 years 🇱🇰

⭕ In September 2024, inflation dropped to -0.5%, compared to 0.5% in August.

⭕ This means that goods and services are now marginally cheaper than a year ago a rare occurrence.

⭕ The last deflation occurred in October 1985, when inflation was -2.1%.

⭕ The highest inflation rate was recorded in September 2022 at a staggering 69.8%.
