Ethnic Shift – Sri Lanka Census 2024 vs 2012

Upcountry Tamil population has rebranded themselves as Sri Lankan Tamils. Why Muslim population increases due to obvious reasons (a) religion prohibits birth controls as every child is a gift of god (b) Early marriages at the age of 17 18 is common despite some upward movement is visible among educated families (c) social cohesion to look after desperately poor families (d) divorcees find it easy to get remarried within short periods due to social structure and perception. This is due to a closely knitted social and religious structures which help increasing Muslim population in other countries as well. This is the natural process even in the Europe and US. Other communities looks at children as burden but Muslim community considers it as a gift. When the almighty decides to give a child he will look after the child. We cannot criticize it.

We don't have Indian Tamils in Sri Lanka but Sri Lanka Tamils of Indian origin. However, it is high time they too are referred to as Sri Lankan Tamils/ Malayalees.

Stop dividing like this .time for change .it has to be serious .everyone one passport ,Lanka passport .sinhala ,tamil ,Muslim difference should be eliminated .call whatever you like privately but officially just Lankan and lankan only .
