Sri Lanka's former test captain Dinesh Chandimal to lead Sri Lanka in the First test vs England which starts today at 10.00 am at the Galle International Cricket Stadium. Sources say, Sri Lanka's Test captain Dimuth Karunarathne ruled out from the first test due to his thumb injury. Karunarathna was hit on his thumb by fast bowler Anrich Nortje in South Africa.
Chandimal was the top scorer for Sri Lanka, hitting 85 off 161 deliveries in the last game he played.
According to the sources despite scoring three ducks in a row in South Africa Kusal Mendis won’t be rested and he will be part of the XI when Sri Lanka take the field today.
