⛽ November 1: Will Fuel Prices Change?

⭕ Tonight is Sri Lanka 🇱🇰’s next scheduled fuel price revision.

⭕ Our estimates show Auto Diesel selling Rs. 143 below its formula-based price and Petrol 92 Rs. 57 below.

⭕ A full price adjustment would increase Diesel from Rs. 392 to Rs. 535 (+36.5%) and Petrol 92 from Rs. 414 to Rs. 471 (+13.8%).

⭕ However, November's formula-based prices are Rs. 15 lower for Diesel and Rs. 5 lower for Petrol compared to October 1.

⭕ If the government continues its current policy of absorbing the price differences, fuel prices may remain unchanged.

Formula price is inclusive of tax- so by subsidizing fuel costs - no real loss on the books.

Roshan Butter Decrease in taxes means decrease in income for government. They will definitely have to find loss from another tax.
